The Middle of the World

ENGLISH

The Middle of the World, or the equatorial line, is known as the line equidistant from the North and South Poles. Equator, from which the name of the country is derived, represents a nation, a thousand-year-old history and the cultural identity of a society. For that reason, Ecuador (or Equator) is a name that should be represented with pride and above all, respect. It’s a word that should not be subjected to manipulation or abuse. For this reason, various organizations have united for the purpose of presenting a campaign in favor of working for responsible tourism and cultural management. This enables the condemnation of false practices by guides and informal expositions that embarrass the honor of our cultural identity. Above all, the purpose is to present trustworthy information and recommend the sites, places, publications, museums, cultural centers and institutions that deserve to be visited by national people and foreigners with the objective that we make your visit an experience that transcends in your life and that remains etched in your memory for a lifetime.
